Holiday Celebration at Witches Falls Winery

Let's face it... it's not difficult to celebrate in style on the Gold Coast. From trendy restaurants to boutique bars, bohemian hotels, white sandy beaches, hidden waterfalls and an endless assortment of gorgeous picnic spots with a view, if you can't find the perfect place to host a party, you're just not looking hard enough!

For our annual Mahiya Christmas Party, we were in search of a fun, welcoming and gorgeous location that encapsulated both the beauty of Queensland and our range of unique products. And since Mount Tamborine is always on our list of Gold Coast holiday getaways, we chose the oh so lovely Witches Falls Winery to host our Christmas celebration.

Mahiya 2016 Christmas Party: Witches Falls Winery

Located conveniently in the heart of Tamborine Mountain, Witches Falls is the brainchild of winemaker and owner, Jon Heslop. After working as a winemaker in South Australia's Barossa Valley and New South Wales' Hunter Valley, Jon packed up and decided to open his own winery in the Gold Coast hinterland.

Open since 2004, Witches Falls Winery is without a doubt one of the most well regarded wineries in the area, thanks in large part to its delicious variety of red, white and dessert wines, friendly staff members, cozy and charming Cellar Door tasting room, and absolutely beautiful location surrounded by lush greenery and landscaped gardens.

For our party, Witches Falls Marketing Manager Heidi Tuchscherer arranged a full picnic spread complete with bean bags, boho rugs, pillows, tables, and a variety of yummy cheese, fruit and charcuterie plates, perfect for pairing with their wine varieties. Some of our favourites included the Verdelho, Sauvignon Blanc, Saignee and Pinot Noir. YUM. 

The onsite DJ kept the music pumping, and guests filtered in and out to enjoy the ambience, life sized chess board, and above all, the wine!

A lively vineyard frolicking session in our Viviana Maxi Skirt and Anita Maxi Skirt was of course a necessity, as was plenty of dancing and general holiday merriment. We'd like to thank Heidi for arranging the details for us, and Witches Falls for providing the perfect setting for our Mahiya Christmas Party. We hope to return again soon!
