Australia Summertime Style Tips
Tip #1: Keep it Breezy
Is there anything worse than throwing on an outfit and going out, only to realise you're immediately sweating through it? We think not. Instead of choosing heavy materials that don't allow your skin to properly breathe, such as wool, polyester or nylon, opt for lighter materials and styles. Your skin (and outfit) will thank you!
Mahiya Suggestions: Viviana Maxi Skirt, Zanetta Play Dress, Analena Mini Skirt
Tip #2: Choose the Right Footwear
You're casually walking to meet friends for a beachside happy hour or arvo beach session, and bam! Blisters galore. Friction from the heat plus shoes that haven't been adequately broken in have a tendency to cause unwanted pain and blisters, which is the absolute last thing you want when planning on spending lots of time in the sand and ocean. The best summertime shoes are often open-toed, comfortable to walk in, and easy to take off!
Mahiya Suggestions: Tallulah Bohemian Sandals, Chico Leather Sandals, Soul Searcher Sandals
Tip #3: Compact Carrying
While it may be tempting to stuff all your summer essentials into as big a bag as possible, you're not doing yourself any favours. Keep the minimals and opt for something lightweight that won't rub against your armpits or exposed skin. If you need extra room, go with a backpack, which will keep the weight evenly distributed and avoid rubbing and friction on a single shoulder.
Mahiya Suggestions: Fiesta Leather Bag, Sienna Boho Bag (Fringe Free), Chameleon Leather Bag
Tip #4: Add Some Colour
What's summertime without a pop (or several) of colour, right?! Now's the perfect time to rotate all of your black clothes to the back of your closet and bring the colour to the forefront. Keep it fresh and fun with prints, fringe, and plenty of playful accessories and leave the dark colours for another season!
Mahiya Suggestions: Sacred Leather Clutch, Quenti Leather Wallet, La Rosa Wallet
Tip #5: Accent with Boho Jewellery
Avoiding materials like brass, copper and aluminum, which tend to heat up in the sun, jewellery is best left to minimal, classic boho touches that accentuate and add personality to any outfit. As with bags, wallets and clutches, jewellery is also a great way to add more colour to your ensemble.
Mahiya Suggestions: Square Simplicity Ring, Turquoise Electra Silver Cuff, Drifter Necklace
